NARRATIVE
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 8/12/22, at 1:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Ericka Magana, Site Supervisor of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The facility is a combination CCC with separate infant and preschool licenses. It should be noted the infant program has a toddler component. At the time of the inspection, 3 children are observed in care, along with 3 teachers. The CCC is clean and organized. Likewise, the CCC has ventilation to afford for child care. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. The CCC has six cribs and ample mats for children in care with different levels of mobility. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors in the CCC which are operable. The CCC's bathroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has an operable refrigerator. The refrigerator contains the children's. food which is labeled and dated. The CCC provides the children in care bottled water inside the CCC and in the outside play area. Site Supervisor was reminded of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead containments. The CCC provides lunches and snacks to children. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secure in the facility's kitchen area. There is no medication on site, however when medication is present it is alo stored in the kitchen area which inaccessible to children in care. .LPA observed a menu posted as well as other licensing required notices. LPA observed a Sign In/Out Ipad near the CCC's entry. LPA reviewed a sample of children in the CCC's electronic sign/sign out systems and notes information contains the children's arrival and exits along the the authorized representative. The outdoor play area is enclosed by chain link fencing. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area. The toys/play equipment are free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. There are sheds in the area which is secure and contains center supplies. The outdoor play area also has ample shade created by a tree and building overhangs. No bodies of water were observed on site. Site Supervisor noted no firearms/weapons or ammunition was stored on the premises. (CONT. 809-C)

Staff and children records are reviewed. The children’s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information as well as immunization records. Records also included a log documenting 15 minute sleep checks and completed Individual Sleep plans. Staff records were reviewed and current. Site Supervisor informed to keep training certifications current and renew certifications prior to expirations.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Site Supervisor and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an

for additional resource. LPA also informed Site supervisor of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Facility representative were reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A Notice of Site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
