On August 23, 2022 at 12:14 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Rona Chavez and Austin Rios conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPAs met with Director Teresa Alvarez and Interim Director of Early Learning Martha Haro and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Directors provided LPAs a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 34 children in care with eight (8) staff providing supervision. Center operates from 7:30am-5:00pm.

LPAs observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility and classrooms. The center provides AM/PM snacks for the children. The facility has enough restrooms available for the children in care. LPAs did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. Each of the classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. Facility provides children that are staying full day a sleeping mat during quiet time if they choose to sleep. The outdoor playground has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPAs observed the playground has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. The playground has ample amount of shade available. The facility has water available for children inside and out.

Center uses hand written sign-in and sign-out logs. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. The center participates in an inclusion program with SPED, the program provides its own staffing. Currently the facility does provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPAs checked and verified expiration dates and medication was stored out of reach and locked. Teachers have required qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 8/17/2024. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 8/19/2023. LPAs verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements. Facility is following current Covid-19 guidelines.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
