25 | On December 30, 2019, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Cheyenne Wiley, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s converted art studio, backyard and hallway restroom are used for child care services, while the home’s bedrooms are excluded. At the time of the inspection six children are present.
Required forms are posted on the wall of the FCCH's converted art studio. The home’s dining room has a fireplace which is screened by glass and inaccessible to children. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector which was tested and found to be operable. Likewise, the home has a regulation fire extinguisher which was purchased on October 11, 2019. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill log and noted the most recent fire/disaster drill occurring on November 13, 2019.
The home was orderly and void of hazards. Medication in the FCCH is stored in a kitchen cabinet on an elevated shelf outside the reach of children. LPA observed cleaning compounds the the FCCH's hallway closet on and elevated shelf. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the FCCH are age appropriate.
The backyard is enclosed by wooden fencing. The backyard also contains two locked sheds used for storage and a gardening area. LPA observed the sheds were locked. Duck (3) and chickens (8) are contained in locked and contained runs. The FCCH also has a dog which was in a kennel during the inspection. LPA reviewed the vaccinations which are current. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. No bodies of water were observed on site.
