25 | On January 28, 2020, at 1:50 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Danielle Taff, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s living room, dining room, backyard, hallway restroom, downstairs bedrooms and kitchen are used for child care , while the home’s upper story and garage are excluded from child care. The home's upper story is inaccessible to children and barricaded with a child safety gate. At the time of the inspection five children are present.
The home was orderly and LPA observed no hazardous items. Medication, cleaning products and sharps are stored in kitchen cabinets on elevated shelves. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the home’s living room are age appropriate. Two dogs are in the home. LPA reviewed the dogs vaccination records which were current.
The backyard has a grass area and is enclosed by wood fencing. A shed with yard equipment was observed in the backyard. The shed was locked and secure. The Licensee was reminded to ensure continual supervision when child are in the backyard for play. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate. No bodies of water were observed on site.
Required licensing documents and forms are posted on the wall at the entry hallway of the home. The home’s living room has a fireplace which is screened by glass and inaccessible to children. LPA observed operable smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. Likewise, the home has a regulation fire extinguisher which was service on January 25, 2020. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill log and the most recent fire/disaster drill occurring on October 24, 2020.
A sampling of the children records were reviewed. The children's records were current and complete. A
