On 11/22/2021, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced inspection to deliver the the final findings of the complaint investigation. Prior to inspection, LPA asked Pre screening questions related to COVID 19. Licensee's response, indicates there were no COVID exposures on site. There were 4 children present when LPA arrived. On or about 10:10 AM Licensee's own child arrived.

CCLD received a complaint regarding a child who allegedly received inappropriate disciplinary action from licensee. It was reported that on 9/23/2021, that a child was placed in the laundry room due to Child #1's misbehavior. LPA interview with Licensee on 11/18/2021 and 11/22/2021 revealed that on 9/23/2021 on or about 3:00 PM Child 1 displayed tantrums and was temperamental. Licensee stated that she attempted to redirect the child. Licensee took/sat the child in office with her and let C1 sit in the carpet where C1 continuously exhibited the tantrums, Licensee waited for C1 to calm down until child was picked which approximately took 15 to 20 minutes.

During the inspection conducted on 9/29/2021 and 11/22//2021, LPA observed that Licensee's office is where the washer /dryer and the bathroom entry are located. This is not an off limit area.

LPA interviewed 6 parents of currently and previously enrolled day care children and no one corroborated with the allegation of inappropriate disciplinary action given by licensee to misbehaving day care children.

Interview with 4 day care children and 2 other school age children that live in the home revealed that when a child does not make a good choice, Licensee will ask the child to sit by the entrance door (part of day care area) and have the child read or just be quiet until child is ready to play with the rest of the children.

Although the above allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did nor did not occur, therefore the allegation is Unsubstantiated.
