On April 11, 2022 at 12:21 PM , Licensing Program Analyst Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced required one (1) year inspection at the above Family Child Care Home (FCCH) LPA asked pre screening questions related to COVID- 19 and licensee’s responses indicate there are no COVID 19 exposures on site. LPA met with Licensee Liliana Gomez and discussed the purpose of the inspection. There were 4 children present during the inspection.

LPA in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the day care. FCCH has a dedicated room for childcare where all day care activities are held. The day care area is secured with gate making the dining room, kitchen, living room and bedrooms inaccessible to day care children. The bathroom used by children is located outside the gated day care area, Licensee stated she accompanies the child to the bathroom LPA observed required licensing forms are posted in the FCCH posted in the wall. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. The regulation fire extinguisher was purchased on 1/6/2022. The backyard is enclosed by 6 ft. brick wall. Day care play area is enclosed with chicken wire separating it from the whole backyard. LPA observed a locked trampoline in the backyard. Licensee stated day care children do not use the trampoline. No bodies of water were observed on site. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition in the home

LPA Reyes reviewed facility file, Pediatric CPR and First Aid expires on 11/8/2023. Licensee's mandated reporter training certificate expired on 2/5/2022. Licensee was reminded that the said training certificate should be renewed every two years. Licensee has proof of immunization on file. Licensee stated she supervises sleeping infants every 15 minutes, however, it was not documented. FCCH has current roster of children in care. Children's records were reviewed, children's files contain Emergency and Identification card requirements. . . Based on LPA review, Infant # 1 who was 9 month during the enrollment (on 1/30/2022) has no Individual Safe Sleep Plan (LIC 9227) on file.

During today's inspection, deficiencies were cited under Title 22 Division 12 and Technical Violation was issued.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Home Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a plan for providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
