32 | LPA observed the outdoor play area to be completely fenced with large play structure and plenty of gross motor activities for children in care. Outdoor play area is safe, clean and free of potential hazards. LPA and Director discussed ensuring there is enough wood chips under slides and climbing structures and also discussed appropriate shade for children in care. Director stated that facility will request for school to place a temporarily water fountain in the preschool yard or they will use pitchers of water with cups so water can always be readily accessible to children in care. LPA did not observe any bodies of water.
LPA discussed with Director the Licensing forms to be posted, License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Parent's Rights Poster (PUB) 393, Personal Rights (LIC613A), Child Car Seat Law, Menu.
Director has CPR/First Aid which expires today, 8/10/21. LPA provided Director with web page of EMSA approved CPR/First Aid courses and also the phone number to CPR/Frist aid certified trainer.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the course of the inspection, LPA discussed COVID-19 Mitigation plan, best practices, and the implementation of such in the Center.
This CCC is pending clearance by Santa Maria Fire Department.
Issuance of License is pending fire clearance, photographs of classroom set up for child care use, current CPR/First Aid certification, and proof of lead component of the Preventative Health Training.
An exit interview was conducted with Director, Raquel Valdez and copy of this report was provided to Director.
LPA provided Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) to be posted. FAILURE TO POST THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FOR 30 DAYS MAY RESULT IN A $100.00 CIVIL PENALTY |
