32 | The outdoor play area is completely enclosed by wire fencing. The outdoor area contains cement walkways, grass matting and sand footing. LPA observes play equipment in the outdoor play area to be age appropriate and free of hazards and sharp points. LPA observed two (2) permanent mesh shades that will be added in the in the outdoor play area which will provide shade to the outdoor area. LPA observed no bodies of water on site. Administrator informed LPA no firearms or ammunition of present at the CCC.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The Santa Maria Fire Department granted a Fire Clearance for a total capacity of 16 children on 9/15/21. Based on indoor and outdoor space, toilets and sinks, as well as LPA’s record review, this facility meets Title 22, Division 12 requirements for a CCC with a capacity of 16 children. As such, License is effective today, 1/14/22.
