25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Shannel Reed, conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection to the facility today. LPA met with Center Director, Sanyoo Bharadwaj, and explained the nature of today's visit. LPA toured the facility both inside and outside. The facility operates as a parent co-op center program. The co-op operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM. LPA observed that the teacher/child ratio was in compliance during today's inspection (Center Director/Teacher with 10 parents and 15 children). LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), Menus, and Activity Schedule. Director Sanyoo understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the facility license. Director Sanyoo understands that children shall be visually supervised at all times.
LPA observed that the facility is clean and safe for all children and staff. LPA observed all furniture and equipment is in good condition and safe for the children. Children's bathrooms are sanitary and operable. Staff/ parents bathrooms are separate and not utilized by the children, but an isolated child can use if needed. The center provides AM and PM snacks from the onsite kitchen. The kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish and free of rodents and other vermin. The kitchen has two refrigerators (one is assigned to the preschool and one to the church) with a temperature of 45 degrees or less. Drinking water is readily available for the children indoor via reusable cups, water pitchers and a water fountain. LPA observed solid waste containers with tight-fitting lids in the facility. Director Sanyoo states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. There is at least one functioning carbon monoxide detector at the facility. Cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children. All medications are stored in the director's office. All medications were observed. The medications are labeled with the children's names and there is no expired medication.
The playground area is surrounded with appropriate fencing. Shade is provided by multiple trees, two (2) medium canopies and building overhangs, etc. Drinking water outdoor is via reusable cups, water pitchers and a water fountain. LPA observed that the resilient material under the climbing structure is sufficient. The outdoor activity space is free of hazards. LPA did not observe any bodies of water.
