On September 27, 2021 at approximately 1:02pm, LPA Haderer arrived unannounced for an annual inspection for compliance to Health and Safety. The new CARE tool was used for the inspection. Present for the inspection was the site director Michelle Rhone, five staff members and 15 children in care (24 months to TK). The center currently operates on a full day program from 7:30AM to 6:00PM.

The child care center operates in one large room (Big Room) and a smaller one (Little Room). The children use a private playground area, all is in safe condition and free from sharp, loose or pointed parts and the areas around or under high climbing equipment has appropriate cushioned material that absorbs a fall. Shade was available under building eaves and a large shade sail and trees in the play areas. Access to drinking water is available and teachers are always present.

The facility has 2 fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, one in the main classroom near the exit door, the other in in the kitchen area by the entrance door. The last annual inspection was done 12/3/2020. The smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are built into the fire system and tested by the local fire department. Heating and ventilation was acceptable. .

The facility is clean and well organized with ample age appropriate furnishings and equipment. Surfaces including floors and counter tops are clean and toxic free. There were no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children in care today. There are no bodies of water accessible to children in care.
Disaster drills are conducted every month, the last drill was conducted September 10, 2021

The sign in/out sheets were reviewed and are accurate. Classrooms have trash cans with tight fitting cover for the disposal of solid waste. At this time, the facility does not have any children that require any incidental medication (EpiPen’s, inhalers and anti-histamines for allergies).

There is one children’s bathroom with three toilets and two handwashing sinks (one of the handwashing sinks has two hot and cold taps). For changing children that need fresh diapers, staff changes them in the bathroom within an arm’s length of the sink. All sinks have functioning water taps with appropriate hand washing signs. There are enough towels and soap supplies. The staff have two separate adult bathrooms outside of the children’s area. All toilets, handwashing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition.

Children's records were reviewed at 3:20pm: LPA requested and reviewed facility roster. All files selected were complete and up to date.

Staff files were reviewed at 2:50pm. Opening and closing staff have current CPR and first aid training. All staff subjected to criminal review have been cleared and associated to the facility. All files were complete, up to date and found to be in compliance with Title 22 regulations. Immunization records available for Tdap, MMR and flu shot (or signed declination).

All documents required to be posted were appropriately posted on the walls: License; Emergency Disaster Plan; Earthquake Preparedness checklist; Notification of Parents Rights; Personal rights; Child seatbelt laws; menus; daily activity schedules.
