25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Margo Dickson, Director, for an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection. LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the Facility with Margo during today's inspection. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), Menus, current Fire Drill Log, and Activity Schedule. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The Facility is licensed to serve a maximum of 98 preschool children ages two to 6 years in Rooms 1-3, 5-8, Senior Lounge, and Fireside Room Parlour (for rainy day activities). The Facility has two active waivers on file (shared playground and shared bathroom use with private K-5 school operated by the same entity) and is in compliance with the conditions of both waivers.
Margo was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA reviewed ten children's and eight staff files (1 director, 6 teachers, & 1 aide) during today's inspection. Each child's file reviewed contains the Information and Emergency Information form (LIC 700), vaccination records, and all other required licensing forms. The Facility is in compliance with the sign in and sign out requirements. All staff files reviewed contain the required transcripts/verification of experience/immunization records, Health Screening Report, and all other required licensing forms. All staff have current certificates of completion of the Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers and current CPR & First Aid certifications on file. Margo understands that there shall be at least one person, with valid CPR and First Aid certifications, on site at all times or present during off-site activities (field trips).
