LPA Anna Morales conducted an ANNUAL REQUIRED VISIT and was greeted by Teachers Rebekah Pike and Angie Deshera, The centers hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30am -11:30pm and 12:15Pm -3:15PM. Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30AM – 11:00AM. The five day classroom operates from 12:15PM -3:15PM. The Preschool is located on site at Laurelwood Elementary school in rooms P1, and P2. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside during todays visit. Last disaster drill was conducted on 3/17/22.

LPA observed that the teacher/adult to child ratio was in compliance during today’s visit with two teachers and one assistant and 13 children. This is a parent involvement program. During today's visit, it was Career Day and students from both programs were present.

Drinking water was readily available to children. The Children bring their own water bottles and own snacks. LPA Observed age appropriate furnishings. LPA observed the playground that is shared with the kindergartner's at Laurelwood Elementary School. The playground area is surrounded by appropriate fencing and the outdoor surfaces are safe. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), and Activity Schedule.

LPA observed a two fully Fire extinguishers in the front of the classrooms. The Carbon monoxide detectors and the smoke detectors are connected with the Emergency Fire Alarm. LPA observed the sign in/sign out procedure.

This facility does not provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS Plan. None of the children currently enrolled are using medication. LPA reviewed a random selection of children files. Children records reviewed include Admission Agreement, Identification and Emergency Contact, Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment form, receipt of Parent Rights Notice, Personal Rights Notice, Medical Assessment, Immunization.

LPA reviewed Staff's records reviewed include Criminal Record and Child Abuse Index Clearance, Health Screening Report and TB test, Immunization (Measles, Pertussis, and Flu) record and required Training. LPA reminded Owner that the online AB1207 Mandated Reported Training needs to be renewed every two years. There was at least one person with current certification in Pediatric CPR and First Aid present at the facility.

LPA also reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.


LPA discussed the requirements of AB 633 and understands the AB 633 fact sheet/copy of Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224). LPA discussed "zero tolerance" related regulations and advised that the assessment of an immediate $500 per day civil penalty for any violation of a "zero tolerance" related regulation. An ongoing civil penalty of $100 per day continues until the violation(s) is corrected.

Teacher Pike stated that they are in the process of submitting the documentation for the New Site Director. Both Teachers present are fully qualified teachers as specified in Section 101216.1(c).

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Rebekah Price. No deficiencies cited at today's visit. LPA requested a that a Waiver for a Share Playground (kindergartner playground) will be submitted along with a schedule, and a letter/statement from Laurelwood Elementary giving LaurelWood Preschool permission to use there Kindergartner playground.
