25 | **THIS INSPECTION WAS DONE VIRTUALLY VIA THE PLATFORM ZOOM DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC**
On March 25, 2021 at 2:40PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melanie Otsuji conducted a virtual inspection with Director, Terri Kemper . The purpose of this inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children in care. Due to COVID-19 state of emergency a Licensed Child Care Center waiver was granted on March 3, 2021 for the facility to utilize yard space not currently licensed.
Fire clearance on file. Check-in will take place at the entrance of the preschool wing. Authorized representatives are asked to submit an online screener before dropping their child off each day. If forgotten, staff ask the screener questions at drop off. Staff sign children in and out with authorized representatives approval. If children become ill during the day, they will rest in one of two isolation areas provided on either Gabriela Mistral or Mariano Castro Elementary School campuses. The isolation bathroom will be in close proximity to the isolation area. Children’s authorized representative will be contacted immediately for pick up, if a child becomes ill. Department of Public Health will be contacted in regard to any COVID-19 illness.
Children will stay with the same group as assigned and will not be moved from one group to the other. Each group must be kept physically separated. Age appropriate furniture including tables and chairs and are present in each of the rooms to meet the needs of children in care. Bathrooms are located in each of the classrooms. There are 4 sinks and 4 toilets available. There is a 3rd classroom not currently being utilized which has an additional 1 sink and 1 toilet available to the children in care. There is a designated outdoor play area with age appropriate equipment and activities. Drinking water readily available through the use of water jugs and cups or reusable water bottles brought from home. |
