25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Marilou Monico, Nancy Rodriguez, and Araceli Almaraz, met with Assistant Director, Stacy O'Toole, for an unannounced annual random inspection. The infant program is operating in Rooms 10, 14, and 15. LPAs observed all required posted materials: License, Parents' Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, menus, Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, Child Passenger Safety Law, and activity schedule. The preschool program's days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs inspected the building both indoor and outdoor. LPAs observed that the facility was operating in compliance with teacher to children ratio requirement. Children were engaged in activities under the supervision of the teachers. LPAs observed trash cans with tight fitting covers throughout the facility. Diapers are being disposed appropriately. Bottles, sippy cups, and foods brought from home are labeled. LPAs observed child's used bedding is touching other bedding in Room 14. There is a functioning carbon monoxide detector at the facility. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water. LPAs reviewed 10 random children's files and one staff file. The Infant Needs and Services Plan for each infant is updated quarterly. At least one staff member present during the inspection has current CPR/First Aid certifications. Per Assistant Director, there are no weapons on the premise.
Outdoor activity space is enclosed by fencing. Shade is provided by trees and canopies. The areas around climbing equipment have resilient material to absorb falls. Drinking water is readily available to children indoor and outdoor via individual water bottles and sippy cups. Parents provides snacks and meals for children in Rooms 10 and 14. The facility provides snacks to children in Rooms 15. There is a kitchen at the facility for food preparation. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, microwave, and sink with hot and cold running water. Sanitation is by hand washing. LPAs observed that food storage areas were clean, free of litter, and rodents.
