Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA met with Director Maarit McCrossen and explained the reason for the inspection. Present during the inspection were 28 children and at least 2 staff present. The staff-child ratio was observed to be in compliance during today's inspection. Facility does have waiver to share outdoor space with preschool program and the restroom.

The sign in/out sheet was reviewed and contains fully legal signature. License, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent's Right were observed to be posted.

LPA toured the inside and outside of the center with Director. The facility was observed to be in clean. The floors were clean and free of tripping hazard. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and all other items that are dangerous to children were observed to be securely stored and inaccessible to children. The furniture and equipment, such as tables and chairs, were observed to be in good condition. LPA observed there is sufficient amount of age-appropriate toys for the children in care. The restroom for children's use was observed to be clean and sanitary. There is fully charged fire extinguisher, functioning carbon monoxide, and smoke detector. Storage containers for waste does have tight-fitted lid. Director stated there are no weapons stored on the premise.

The outdoor activity area is fenced. The playground equipment outside were maintained in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Areas around play structures were cushioned with resilient materials to absorbs falls. Shaded rest areas are provided through trees and building overhang. LPA did not observe any bodies of water.

The facility does provide meals and snacks to the children in care. Menu was posted with serving size. Drinking water is provided through water fountains.

10 children files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed included but not limited to the parent's rights and information and emergency form.

2 staff files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to education credit. There is currently at least one staff present with a valid CPR/1st Aid, which expires on 09/30/2019. Staff present during the inspection have cleared criminal record and child abuse index clearance.

Director stated that she currently does not have any children in care who requires Incidental Medical Services (IMS) services. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. As a result of today's inspection, no deficiencies have been cited. An exit interview was conducted, where this report was discussed and provided to Director Maarit McCrossen.
