25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Cortney Nelson and Farida Raja, met with Site Director, Maggie Corral, and explained purpose of todays visit. Upon arrival, LPAs were admitted into the facility by the assistant director.
During todays visit, LPAs observed that commingling occurred between the infant component and the preschool component when transitioning from outside play to indoor play. The outdoor play yards for both components are fenced and when transitioning inside, the infants were brought into the preschool yard while preschool-age children were still present. LPAs observed infants running towards and commingling with the preschoolers as they were still active in the play yard. Staff ran towards the infants to bring them back to the gate to exit the play yard. The exit gate was located inside of the preschool yard. LPAs advised the Site Director that commingling shall not occur between components and they shall remain physically separated at all times.
LPAs informed licensee (Maggie Corral) that this report dated (3/14/2024) documents one Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is immediate risks to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
