25 | On February 7, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kaur, conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee Tina Maes. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the home by the Licensee. There are 8 children in care with Licensee and 2 daughters. The Licensee rents this single-family home. Day Care Areas: living room, family room, the dining room, the bathroom, and the backyard. Off Limit Areas are the garage and the bedrooms. Hours of operations are Monday to Friday, 07:00 AM to 06:00 PM
LPA and Licensee inspected the daycare areas for health and safety hazards. During the inspection, LPA observed the following: The daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for the children. The home has adequate lighting and ventilation. The house has a working smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher. First aid supplies are available for children. Per Licensee, there are no firearms, weapons, in the home. LPA observed no pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the premises. The Licensee had posted all the required forms (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake preparedness checklist, and Notification of Personal Rights.
LPA reviewed 2 children's records and staff records. LPA observed that the Licensee did not maintained records of each child accordingly; identification and emergency information, consent for medical treatment, and parent's rights were appropriately completed. The Licensee and helper have not maintained a record of immunization, mandated reporter training certification, and CPR & First Aids training for all staff are not valid.
Incidentals Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
