25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) James Sampair conducted an unannounced random annual site inspection of this facility at 10:33AM. At arrival, LPA met with facility Director Ida Stevens and Assistant Director Yu Ting "Claire" Hung. Assistant Director Hung assisted LPA with a tour of all areas of the facility inside and outside. Also present at the facility were 4 teaching staff (all Qualified Teachers) who cared for 11 infants. The facility is within capacity and each classroom is within ratio. All staff present are background cleared and associated to this facility. All infants are being supervised.
The program operates in 2 classrooms that have age-appropriate furnishings and equipment free of broken or sharp pieces. School daily routine and meal information were posted on the wall. The facility provides refrigeration for mother's milk in the classroom. Counters and surfaces, including floors, are free of toxins. There are no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to the infants in care. The facility had sufficient infant napping equipment for each infant that was free from all loose articles and objects, including blankets and pillows, nor were there objects hanging above or attached to the side of the crib.
The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were physically separate from that used by the rest of the facility. The outdoor play areas were fully fenced and drinking water was available for the children both indoors and outdoors. In the kitchen, the food-preparation preparation and storage areas were all kept clean, free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and other vermin.
There are no pools or other bodies of water accessible to children. There are fully charged fire extinguishers, the facility has a centralized smoke and fire alarm system and a functioning carbon monoxide detector in each classroom. Per the director, there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. |
