25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Tiffany Brunnings, Executive Director, for an announced case management inspection. Purpose of today's inspection: discuss playground renovations of one of the three outdoor infant playground areas.
The Facility currently has three infant playground areas (Yard 1, 2, & 3). Playground renovations for Yard 3 was scheduled for February 1, 2023 to April 19, 2023 (Phase I) and April 19, 2023 to May 9, 2023 (Phase II). Tiffany states that the dimensions of Yard 3 playground areas did not change as a result of the renovations. Tiffany states that new artificial turf, new play structure, and resilient materials (Plan N Pour) were installed in Yard 3.
LPA toured the infant playground area (Yard 3) with Tiffany during today's inspection. LPA observed that artificial turf was installed in areas that had natural grass previously, new play structures replaced the older structure, and resilient materials (Play N Pour) were installed underneath and around the new play structures. LPA observed that the new play structure is age appropriate, secure, and safe for the infant children.
Tiffany states that a final inspection of the playground area should be completed within the next week or so. Tiffany states that the infant children will not utilize the playground area until the final inspection has been completed & approved. Tiffany agreed to submit a copy of the final inspection approval to LPA once it has been completed. LPA advised Tiffany that the Facility can start using the renovated playground area once they have the final inspection approval.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Executive Director, Tiffany Brunnings. No deficiencies issued during today's inspection. A Notice of Site Visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
