25 | On today's date, 9/16/2024 at 1:30PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji conducted an UNANNOUNCED Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with Director, Olga Redko arriving shortly thereafter was Director of Preschools, Terri Kemper. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Also present were 11 additional staff members and 34 preschool aged children. This program currently operates in 4 classrooms (Portables 23, 24, 25 and Classroom 3) on the campus of Theuerkauf Elementary Monday through Friday: 8AM - 3PM with the option for extended care.
The preschool classrooms were inspected for age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children’s belongings. LPA observed the presence of working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors/fire alarms and fully charged fire extinguishers that is accessible throughout the facility. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. Cleaning supplies/toxins are stored inaccessible to children during the inspection and all required postings are present. Facility provides lunch and AM/PM snacks. Children bring their own water bottles from home and are refilled with water from the water fountain. LPA observed the preschool play yard and observed, tarps, trees and building overhang for shade. No hazards were observed on the play yard on today's date. LPA reviewed a random sample of children's files and staff files.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
