LPAs Janet Tse and Susy Cervantes met with licensee/director Richa Kapur for a case management inspection. LPAs explained the nature of today's visit to Licensee. Licenses will be applying for change of capacity for the Infant program from 14 to 16 children. This visit is to determine the capacity to be allowed per space available for the Infant program. There is no change in the environment and set up of the Infant program. The Infant program only uses the Green Room (Room 1) for indoor space. Currently the infant program is only using the Bikes & Strollers Yard for outdoor activities. Licensee is requesting to also use the Grassy Yard, and to share the Bikes & Strollers Yard and the Grassy Yard with the preschool program at different schedules. LPAs observed eight children with three teachers and one teacher assistant in the Green Room..
Following are the measurements taken on 06/19/2019 by LPA Tse:
INDOOR MEASUREMENTS:
Green Room: 38.667 x 20.250 = 783.006 minus 29.493 (encumbered space) = 753.513
TOTAL INDOOR SPACE: 753.513 sq. ft. divided by 35 = 21 children.
OUTDOOR MEASUREMENTS:
Grassy Yard: 25.833 x 73 = 1885.809
Bikes & Strollers Yard: (36.083 x 25.583) + (56 x 30.750) = 923.111 + 1722
= 2645.111 minus 143.006 (encumbered space) = 2502.105
TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE: 4387.914 sq. ft. divided by 75 = 58 children.
LPAs observed there is one toilet and two sinks in the Green Room.
Licensure for the Infant program to increase capacity to 16 children and the addition of the usage of the Grassy Yard is pending on the following:
1. Application for a Child Care Center License for increase capacity to 16 children.
2. A waiver request to share the Grassy Yard and Bikes & Strollers Yard with the Preschool children at
different schedules.
3. Fire clearance.
4. Licensing Management approval.
No deficiency was cited. Notice of site visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days.
