25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Yip conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection. LPA met with Principal/Director Violet Seryani and explained the reason for the inspection. Present during today's inspection were 25 children and at least five staff. LPA reviewed the electronic sign in/out.
LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. The center was observed to be clean and free of tripping hazard. Cleaning supplies, disinfectant, and other items that could pose a risk to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. Toys and equipment were observed age-appropriate. There is fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. At 3:50PM, LPA observed that a child went to the restroom. LPA also observed at 3:51PM that a child went to the other restroom. There were staff in the room. LPA observed that the staff moved to the door where they can supervise the children in the room and the chid in the restroom.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
