25 | On September 6, 2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kaur, conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee Camille Covington. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the home by the Licensee. There are no children in care with Licensee. Licensee has opened her day care after 2 years because of Covid. The Daycare will be open this week. The Licensee owns this single-family home. Day Care Areas: Family room in back, the bathroom, and the backyard. Off Limit Areas rest of the house. Hours of operations are Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Per Licensees, sick children will be separated from the group and waiting for the parent to pick them up in the family room.
LPA and Licensee inspected the daycare areas for health and safety hazards. During the inspection, LPA observed the following: There is pool in backyard that meets regulations. The daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for the children. The home has adequate lighting and ventilation. The house has a working smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher. First aid supplies are available for children. Per Licensee, there are no firearms, weapons, or pets in the home. The Licensee had posted all the required forms (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake preparedness checklist, and Notification of Personal Rights). Per Licensee, fire drills are conducted every 6 months; Licensee will conduct fire drill once she will open her daycare. LPA Kaur advised licensee to have child locks in bathroom drawers.
LPA reviewed new enrolled children's records. LPA observed that the Licensee maintained records of each child accordingly; identification and emergency information, consent for medical treatment, and parent's rights were appropriately completed. The Licensee have maintained a record of immunization, mandated reporter training certification, and CPR & First Aids training are valid.
Incidentals Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
