25 | On Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 9:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Manel Estoesta conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year Visit. LPA met with the Facility Administrator Leilani Camara and explained the purpose of today's visit. Present on this visit were 4 staff and 21 preschool children in care. Facility operates from Monday to Friday 8:15 AM to 5 PM.
LPA toured the facility to conduct a Health and Safety inspection with the Administrator. LPA observed Facility’s License, Parents’ Rights Poster, Personal Rights, a Waiver and Activity Schedules were observed to be posted. At 10 am, LPA observed teacher to children ratio complied and children were engaged in various activities under the visual supervision of the teachers.
The preschool classrooms, restrooms, kitchen, pantry, storage, and office area were inspected. The floors of all rooms appear to be safe and clean. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children were stored inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment such as mats, cots, tables, and chairs were age appropriate and were in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.
All kitchen, food-preparation and storage areas were all kept clean and free of litter and rubbish. Food and beverages were kept protected against contamination and spoilage. Restrooms for children's use were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. LPA reminded the Director that firearms and other weapons is not be allowed on or stored on the facility premises.
Outdoor activity space is fenced and play equipment were maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards. There were no bodies of water observed. Areas around and under high climbing equipment and slides were cushioned with material that absorbs falls. There were shaded rest areas for children. Drinking water are arranged to be readily available to children during indoor and outdoor activities. Trash cans use for solid waste had tight-fitting covers on and were in good repair.
