LPA did not observe any fireplaces or wall heaters at the Facility. All classrooms have appropriate lighting and ventilation (heating and air conditioning). First aid supplies are stored in each Building and are inaccessible to children. Medications are stored in an appropriate lock box inaccessible to children.
The food preparation areas are functional and has hot and cold running water, sink, refrigerator, microwave, oven, and storage space for food. The Facility will provide snacks to the children. Cleaning and sanitation of dishes and utensils will be done via dishwasher. Disposable utensils and plates will be utilized by the Facility. LPA observed a solid waste container with a tight-fitting lid in each classroom. Cleaning supplies will also be stored on high shelves in each classroom inaccessible to children.
There are 180 chairs, 30 tables, 162 mats/cots, and 180 cubbies in both Buildings. Drinking water is readily available for the children in each room and in the outdoor playground area via drinking fountains and pitchers/disposable cups. There is a working telephone at the Facility for both Buildings. The phone number is 650-938-8386.
LPA observed that the playground areas are surrounded by appropriate fencing. The playground equipment is age appropriate. There is a climbing structure in the playground and rubber surfacing is used for resilient materials. Shade is provided by trees, building overhangs, and canopies. There are adequate equipment, supplies, and toys for children outdoors. LPA did not observe any bodies of water during today's inspection. Transportation will not be provided by the Facility.
The Facility has three active waivers on file (preschool playground space, toddler playground space, and shared bathroom use) and is in compliance with the conditions of all waivers.
LPA conducted an exit interview with Helen and Melissa and advised them that a license for 180 children (24 toddler option & 156 preschool) is approved today, September 6, 2019.
A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, POSTED NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. |
