On Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Manel Estoesta conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year visit. LPA met with the Site Supervisor Kilma Desai and explained the nature of the site visit. Present on this visit were 2 staff, 2 Toddlers and 5 Preschool Children. The facility operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

LPA toured the facility to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection with Kilma Desai. The facility is also licensed for a Toddler Option Program up to 12 Toddler Children operating in Toddler Room.
Facility follows the posting regulatory requirement. Restrooms and diaper changing area for children to use in each room were observed to be in safe and sanitary operating conditions. There were no bodies of water observed. Kilma Desai stated that facility do not have weapons on the premises. Furniture and equipment were in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The facility prepares and provides meals and snacks for the Toddler Option Program and Preschool Children.
LPA observed and reviewed the Menus. The food-preparation and storage areas were observed in clean and free of litter and rubbish and the facility have measures taken to keep all such areas free of rodents and other vermin.
Floors were clean and safe, and outdoor activity space were free of hazards and there were shaded rest areas for children. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, and other items that are dangerous to children were stored inaccessible to children.
Drinking water is arranged to be readily available for children in care. LPA observed one locked storage in the outdoor activity space.

LPA observed a fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Fire and Disaster drill was last conducted April 2022.

The facility met the Teacher- Child Ratio today. Sign in and out procedures and log were reviewed with Kilma Desai. A sampling of children files was selected for review. A sampling of Staff files was selected for review. LPA reminded Kilma Desai that only the Influenza vaccination can be decline with a written declination and requires annual renewal. LPA reminded Kilma Desai that the AB 1207 requires 2 year renewal. At least 1 staff has a current CPR and First Training certificate in attendance.

Criminal background checks for staff members are managed by the Santa Clara Unified School District. The facility uses a software operation application, LPA reviewed the software operation application (Care Connect) with the Site supervisor on how it works for example but not limited to Children's Sign in and Out, Authorized Representative Communication, Enrollment Document Center and Children's Record. A sampling of facility’s children’s electronic files was selected for review and facility's Personnel Record reviewed with the Site Supervisor.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Kilma Desai and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Kilma Desai of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

LPA discussed the LIC 311 A, PIN 21-21-CCP, PIN 22-10-CCP and Guardian.



LPA obtained copies of the facility's LIC 500, Sign In and Out Log for today, Facility's Children's Emergency Contact Information.

There are no deficiencies cited on this visit.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
