LPA met with licensee Ibarra Rocio and informed her the purpose of the visit. LPA arrived at the facility at 8:15 AM . All required notifications and posting were observed. Facility’s operating days and hours are Monday-Friday 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM. During visit, LPA observed a ratio of 1 infant and 5 preschool children in ratio . All adult/assistants present are associated to the facility. Present during the inspection was the licensee her son Nathaniel Esquivel and two assistants (Cristina Ibarra and Sonia Torres Valdovino) Licensee Rocio Ibarra was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA inspected the indoor and outdoor areas of the home. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors were tested and proved to be functioning. The fireplace is screened. Fire and disaster drills were last conducted and recorded on 12/2022. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher. Off limit areas in the home: Downstairs bedrooms, kitchen and main living-room. The day-car is in a stand alone structure in rear of the home with aside entrance. The backyard if fully fenced in the equipment is in good condition free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. There were no bodies of water observed.

Medication, cleaning products and similar items that can pose a danger to children if readily accessible are stored inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home.

Furniture and equipment were observed to be age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Restroom for children to use were observed to be in operating conditions. Floors were clean. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, sharps, and other items that are dangerous to children were stored inaccessible. Meals are prepared in kitchen area ,LPA observed that food storage areas were clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. Foods and beverages were kept protected against contamination and spoilage. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers.

A sampling of children and staff files was selected for review. Children records reviewed and found to be in order and current Staff records reviewed and found to be current and in order.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – currently the facility does not have any children in care who requires IMS. Safe Sleep: LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep web page at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.

LPA also informed licensee Roico Barra of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment
