25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Shannel Reed, conducted an unannounced annual/random visit to the Facility today. LPA met with Director, Chia Thao and explained the nature of today's visit to her. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside during today's visit. LPA observed the facility in compliance with the required staffing ratios. There were 29 preschool aged children with the Director and five (5) Teachers and one (1) Aide teachers present during today’s inspection.
LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Activity Schedule and Menus. The facility provides Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks, although some children bring their lunch from home as well. LPA observed a 2A10BC Fire extinguishers in the kitchen and additional larger Fire Extinguishers throughout the facility. LPA observed operational Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. The Fire Drill Log shows that the last Fire Drill was conducted on 10/08/19. The Director understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the Facility license. The Director understands that children shall be visually supervised at all times.
LPA reviewed six (6) children's files. Each child's file reviewed contains the required information. LPA reviewed six (6) staff files and found that all have completed the required Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207) and the required immunization's against Pertussis, Measles, and Influenza (or opt out letter). There is at least one teaching staff member that has current CPR and First Aid certifications on file. The Director understands that there shall be at least one person, with valid CPR and First Aid certifications, on site at all times or present during off-site activities (field trips).
