25 | On today's date, 10/05/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji conducted an UNANNOUNCED 1 YEAR REQUIRED INSPECTION. LPA met with Facility Representative, Louanne Gonzalez. Also present during today's visit was the Director, Linda Westcott, 6 additional staff members and 41 preschool aged children. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. This program currently operates in 3 rooms (Busy Bees, Dragonflies and Hummingbirds) Monday through Friday: 8:30AM - 6PM.
The preschool classrooms were inspected for age appropriate furnishings, equipment, and adequate storage for children’s belongings. LPA observed the presence of working carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors/fire alarms and fully charged fire extinguishers that is accessible throughout the facility. There are no pools, hot tubs or other accessible bodies of water. Cleaning supplies/toxins are stored inaccessible to children during the inspection and all required postings are present. Facility provides AM/PM snacks and children bring lunch from home or opt for catered lunch. Children also bring their own water bottles from home. LPA observed the preschool play yards and observed trees, tarps and building overhang for shade. No hazards were observed on the play yard on today's date. LPA reviewed Director's file and Director has current CPR/First Aid certification. Staff interview also conducted and documented. LPA reviewed 5 staff files and 6 children files.
