25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marilou Monico, met with Site Director, Rashmi Muddeeregowda, for an unannounced 1 Year Required inspection. The preschool program's days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. LPA observed all the required posted materials: license, Notification of Parents' Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, and Child Passenger Safety Law.
LPA inspected the building both indoor and outdoor. LPA observed that the facility was operating in compliance with teacher to children ratio requirement. Children were engaged in activities under the supervision of the teachers. LPA observed trash cans with tight fitting covers throughout the facility for the disposal of solid waste. Drinking water indoor is via individual water bottles. Cleaning products, sharps objects, and other similar items were stored inaccessible to children. There was functioning carbon monoxide detector and smoke detectors at the facility. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. LPA reviewed 10 random children's files and eight staff files. Two Evaluation of Teacher Qualifications were completed. Site Director has current CPR/First Aid certification with an expiration date of November 23, 2021. Per Site Director, there were no weapons on the premises. The facility utilizes an electronic sign in/out for parents to sign in/out their children. LPA obtained copy of children's roster. Restrooms for children to use were observed to be clean and in operating conditions.
Outdoor activity areas are enclosed by fencing. Shade is provided by trees and patio. The areas around climbing equipment have rubber foam as resilient material. Drinking water was readily available to children outdoor via individual water bottles. Parents provide morning and afternoon snack and children's lunch is catered from Kidsmealz. Sanitation is by hand washing.
LPA discussed with Site Director Senate Bill 792, Assembly Bill (AB) 1207 (Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training) which is required training that began on January 1, 2018 and requires renewal every two years and AB 633. Mandated Reported Training can be accessed at www.mandatedreporterca.com.
