25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) James Sampair conducted an unannounced random annual site inspection of this facility at 9:30AM. At arrival, LPA met with Administrator Kelly Linder. Ms. Linder directed a tour for LPA Sampair through all areas of the facility inside and outside. Present at the facility were 4 teaching staff (all Fully Qualified Teachers) who cared for 11 children (3 Infants and 8 Toddlers) in the Infant Room that's divided into the Infant and Toddler Areas. The facility is within capacity, as is the Teacher-Child Ratio, and the Toddlers' Area has been separated from that of the Infants. All of the children are being supervised and all of the staff present are background cleared and associated with this facility.
The furnishings and equipment are age-appropriate and free of broken or sharp pieces. Counters and surfaces, including floors, are free of toxins. There are no hazardous items/toxins observed to be accessible to children in care. The napping linens are changed daily and each child has a dedicated crib. The children bring their own lunches and the facility provides them with snacks. The food preparation areas and refrigerators were clean, organized, and the children's foods were stored in individually labelled sealed containers. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced with age-appropriate climbing equipment and slides in the play area that are securely anchored with cushioning under and around the structures.
There are no pools or other bodies of water accessible to children. There are fully charged fire extinguishers in each of the classrooms and the facility has centralized fire alarm system and individual carbon monoxide modules within each room. Per Ms. Linder, there are no firearms present or stored on the premises. 2 children's files were reviewed and they were complete. 2 staff records were reviewed and they were complete. More than one staff member present has current CPR/First Aid certification. All required postings were present. |
