25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Macias conducted a Case Management Inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor Ann Delo, and discussed the purpose of today's visit. LPA was present today for an unrelated reason. LPA was made aware on February 27, 2020 through interviewing staff that the facility is often out of ratio.
During today's inspection LPA Macias observed the facility to be out of ratio. Upon arrival LPA observed fifteen children with one staff member. LPA immediately addressed the concern with the Director. LPA explained that the teacher - child ratio shall be a ratio of one teacher visually observing and supervising no more than 12 children in attendance. A ratio of one fully qualified teacher and one aide for every 18 children in attendance in a preschool program is allowed when the aide meets the qualifications. When two fully qualified teachers are in attendance the ratio may be; two fully qualified teachers to twenty-four children. LPA Macias explained the importance of maintaining ratio as it directly relates to ensuring adequate supervision at all times.
Type B deficiency cited, exit interview conducted, and a copy of this report was left at the facility.
A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, POSTED NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. |
