25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Maria Angelica Cristancho & Maria Valdes, Licensees, for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensees. LPA also observed four day care children (2 infants & 2 preschool) in the home during today's inspection. Licensees were operating within the capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the main entrance to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Adults residing in the home are: Licensees, Manuel Cristancho (spouse of Maria Valdes and Maria Angelica's father), and Ana (daughter of Maria Valdes and Maria Angelica's sister).
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on March 9, 2022. Licensees state that they do not have liability insurance for the day care and thus issue the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC 282) to all enrolled families. Both Licensees have current CPR & First Aid certifications which expire November 20, 2022. Licensees have the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu) and are current with their Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers (expiration: 09/16/2023). LPA reviewed four children's files and the files were complete with the required forms, including the Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) and immunization records. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensees) and the files were complete with the required forms and immunization records.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensees have a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including heating/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe & age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. There are no wall heater units or stairs inside the home. Off limit areas inside the home: master bedroom, master bathroom, hallway closet, 3 locked bathroom cabinets, two locked kitchen cabinets (underneath kitchen sink), barricaded fireplace (located in the front living room), and attached garage. Off limit areas outdoors: right & left side sections and part of right back section of the backyard and front yard.
LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. Licensees state that they do not have any weapons or pets in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are inaccessible to children. Licensees states that there are no poisons in the home. |
