25 | On 7/19/22 at 11:06am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Briana Plumboy met with Director Irish-Marthe Dinio for an Unannounced Annual Inspection. Three (3) classrooms were toured for a health and safety inspection. There were forty- three (43) preschool and toddler children and five (5) teachers present during the inspection. The facility operates from 8:15am – 5:30pm.
The facility has age appropriate materials in all three (3) rooms that are observed to be clean and in good condition. The outdoor spaces are clean and have proper shading for children. All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas during today's inspection. All sinks and toilets were observed to be clean and in proper working order. The kitchen/food preparation area was observed to be clean and is located behind a door where children do not have access. All knives and cleaning products in the kitchen were made inaccessible to children in care. The children in care bring food from home and the facility provides snacks. The facility has water readily available to children in care.
The facility is operating within its licensed capacity. All proper postings including the menu are made visible to parents and visitors in the front office. There is a waiver posted for outdoor yard space. A physical census of the children and staff was taken and cross referenced with the sign-in and out log as well as the staff roster. The facility is using a digital sign in and out. LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the facility.
LPA obtained a sample of the children’s files and the staff files. The last fire drill was documented to be conducted on 3/4/22 and last earthquake drill was documented on 2/4/22. There are cots, sheets, and blankets that are present during today's inspection. The preschool has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors which are connected to the alarm system in the ceiling, pull down fire alarms, as well as multiple fire extinguishers.
