25 | On 08/15/2023 at 08:27 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Teodoro Trujillo met with licensee Jose Recinos, for an annual inspection. Present with adult son who assists, with 1 child: one (1) preschool age, one additional preschool age child and assistant Amalia arrived during site visit. Adults living in the home are licensee, and adult son Yoy. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 6:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
A listing of staff criminal record clearances associated to this facility in the CCL Licensing Information System (LIS) on 08/14/2023 was reviewed and it indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background clearances have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA inspected inside and outside of single-story home. Licensee rents the home and Licensee states she does not have liability insurance for a family childcare home (FCCH). LPA observed a 3A40BC fire extinguisher has not been serviced, last purchased on 01/14/2020. Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors are operable. LPA observed no wall heater, no fireplaces. Licensee stated there are no firearms/weapons in the home. Sharp objects, medicines, poisons, and cleaning supplies were accessible to the children, cleaning supplies were accessible in off limit kitchen sink with bottle of Joy dishwashing soap, gallon of Mr. Clean and bottle of Oxygen Orange, kitchen gate was open during site visit, bottle of shampoo was in on limit bathroom stall. Off limits indoor: master bedroom, master bathroom, two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, and the laundry room. Backyard is fenced. Off limits outdoor: detached garage, both side yards and far back are next to detached Garage. Right side area is cluttered with unused household items, front and back yard is overgrown dry weeds.
Children were supervised during the visit and LPA went over substitute options and reminded licensee they could only have 14 children according to her license. Licensee stated they transport children, LPA reminded Licensee that children are never to be left in parked vehicles and must use appropriate car seats according to the child's age/weight/size.
