32 | Shade is provided by building overhang , canopy, and trees. Drinking water is arranged to be readily available to children. LPAs observed two drinking water fountains in Yard 3. Vice President and Director stated that the facility will not be providing transportation.
There are a total of 10 toilets and 15 sinks available to children to use. LPAs observed soap dispensers and disposable towels in the restrooms. Facility has two staff restrooms that are designated for staff and children who become ill to use. The reception area will serve as an isolation area for children who becomes ill and facility has equipment (cots, chairs etc.) for an ill child to rest. LPAs observed that Facility has toys, furniture, and equipment for the children to use. The rooms are furnished with sufficient tables, chairs, cubbies, shelves, etc. The facility has cots for children to use for napping.
Facility will provide Lunch, and Morning and Afternoon Snacks. Meals and Snacks will be stored and prepared at the Food Preparation Room adjacent to the Office. LPAs observed the food preparation area was equipped with refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, and stoves to store, heat, and/or cool food as needed. There is a sink with running hot and cold water. Menu was posted. Containers used for storage of solid wastes have tight-fitting cover on. Detergents, cleaning compounds, sharps, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children are stored where they are inaccessible to children. Storage/Maintenance rooms/areas were secured such that they are inaccessible to preschool age children. Facility has janitorial service at the end of each day.
Director Loc Kerwin meets Director's Educational Qualification requirement. Director has current certification for preventive health practices training, which included current pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid certification. Director maintains documentation of immunity against Measles and Pertussis and required training such as the Mandated Reporter Training Certification.
Director and Vice President have obtained a Criminal Record Background Check and Child Abuse Index Clearance and their clearance are associated to this facility.
LPAs reminded Director and Vice President of the applicable civil penalties for those adults who have not received fingerprint clearances, are not associated to the license, and who come in contact with or provide care and supervision to the children. For an initial violation, civil penalty amounts to $100.00 per person up to $500.00 per person. For a subsequent violation within a 12-month period, civil penalty amounts to $100.00 per person up to $3000.00 per person. |
