25 | On December 20, 2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kaur, conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee assistant Solange Cavalcante. Licensee went on vacation for holidays and will be back after new years. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the home by the Licensee assistant. There are eight children in care and 3 assistants. The Licensee rents this single-family home. Day Care Areas: the kitchen, the garage, the bathroom, 2 bedrooms and the backyard. Off Limit Areas are bedroom 2. Hours of operations are Monday to Friday, 07:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA and Licensee assistant inspected the daycare areas for health and safety hazards. During the inspection, LPA observed the following: The daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for the children. LPA Kaur children were doing crafts. The home has adequate lighting and ventilation. The house has a working smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguisher. First aid supplies are available for children. Per Licensee, there are no firearms, weapons, or pets in the home. Facility provides snacks and lunches to children. LPA kaur observed infant napping log. LPA observed no pools, spas, or other bodies of water on the premises. The Licensee had posted all the required forms (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake preparedness checklist, and Notification of Personal Rights). Per Licensee, fire drills are conducted every 6 months; the last fire drill was conducted on July 2022.
LPA reviewed 4 children's records and staff records. LPA observed that the Licensee maintained records of each child accordingly; identification and emergency information, consent for medical treatment, and parent's rights were appropriately completed. The Licensee and helper have maintained a record of immunization, mandated reporter training certification, and CPR & First Aids training for all staff are valid.
Incidentals Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
