25 | On 08/24/2023 at 8:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farida Raja, conducted an unannounced 1- year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by Licensee, Margarita Martinez, and explained the nature of today’s inspection. Present in the home were licensee, licensee's daughter/assistant, Diana Gutierrez, assistant, Paula Motto, and 4 children including one infant and 3 preschool children. Licensee was operating within the ratio and capacity requirements of the license. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 5:30 pm. LPA observed all required posted materials near the front entrance to the home. The adults that reside in the home are licensee and two adult daughters.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home with licensee and daughter/assistant. Licensee does not speak English and LPA communicated with licensee's daughter during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home (408-401-4595). LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Furniture, such as tables, chairs, shelves, feeding chairs and play equipment are in good condition. The floors were free of tripping hazards with toys put away on shelves or in baskets. The home has central heating, portable air conditioner, fans and ventilation for comfort of children. The home is single story. Off limit areas inside the home: master bedroom, master bathroom, three bedrooms, one bathroom, and attached garage. In-use areas include living room, kitchen and one bathroom. Backyard is fenced and both sides of the home are gated. The outdoor space and play equipment were observed to be age appropriate and free of hazards. There are no bodies of water observed. Areas under play structures are cushioned with artificial grass. LPA observed the bathroom used by children was in operating condition. Toilets and faucet are clean and operable. The shower area is free of any hazards. All cleaning compounds, medications, sharp objects and similar items were observed to be stored inaccessible to children.
