25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pete Hernandez conducted an unannounced Required 1 year Inspection. The LPA met with the Ming Chen and disused the nature of today's inspection. The Licensee is currently licensed to provide care for up to 14 children. The purpose of today’s inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. Also present were two assistants; Yanyan Huo and Miao Yun. The Licensee is the only adult who reside in the home. Todays census is 9 (3 infants, 6 preschool age). The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6am - 6pm. The Licensee's CPR and First Aid are current, and expire 10/8/2023.
Off limit areas; All Bedrooms, kitchen and garage. On Limit Areas: Inspected facility: approved for child care use in living room, family room, and dining area, hall and bathroom. Backyard is approved for child care use. LPA didn't observed any bodies of water. Licensee understands that all pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water shall be covered or fenced as specified in title 22 regulations to be inaccessible to children. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Fire drills are conducted every six months and logged: last entry was 9/2/2022. The Licensee maintains a children's roster and the LPA was provided a copy. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. The home is orderly, and safe for the day care children.
LPA observed 1 fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. There are working smoke & carbon monoxide detectors and fire pull stations in the home. The Licensee states that she does have weapons in the home but it is locked up and the ammunition is locked up in a separate location. All detergents, cleaning compounds, other similar items and poisons are in the garage or locked up under the kitchen sink and are inaccessible to children.
