32 | Indoor areas of the facility were inspected by the LPAs today and observed to be clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA observed sufficient age-appropriate materials, toys, and play equipment. The facility has two classrooms (A & B) and a kitchen. During today's inspection, LPAs observed children engaged in circle time and small projects with staff present. Drinking water is readily available for children via water dispensers and disposable cups. Staff and children’s bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a separate staff bathroom, not utilized by the children, which an isolated child can use if necessary. There is a working telephone in the facility. Water lead testing was completed for the facility on 8/12/2022 and no Action Level Exceedances were reported.
The outdoor area of the facility was inspected and observed to be fenced in. LPAs observed play equipment was in good condition, age-appropriate, and has sufficient resilient materials (tankbark) to absorb falls. There is a tire swing, playground, and properly maintained sandbox available for children's use. No outdoor bodies of water were observed during today’s inspection. Shaded rest area is provided by canopy and building overhang.
Food is provided through the Child & Adult Care Food Program and is stored, prepared, and served in a safe and healthful manner to the children. The facility offers a half day program and provides AM/PM snack to children. The menu is in writing and posted at least one week in advance, accessible to authorized representatives. LPA's advised that snack menu should have portion sizes for food served. The kitchen and storage area is clean and free of litter and rubbish.
Five (5) children’s files and six (6) staff files were reviewed and all required documents were present. The Site Director has current CPR/First-Aid that expires 10/1/2024 and Mandated Reporter Training that expires on 3/23/2025. LPA's reminded both trainings must be renewed every 2 years.
The Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
