PA, Behbood made a visit to conduct an annual/Random visit. Site Director was on vacation, Met Acting Site Supervisor Elisa Bridges. Lisa Porsch, PS Program Director arrived during visit. Present also were 37 children and 6 additional staff. Facility didn't have power in the morning, but since the weather was mild it didn't effect the operation of the facility, it effected the lunch menu since they were not able to cook anything. All perishable food were moved to the sister facility in the area who did have power. The plan for future power outage that is schedule for Wednesday is to operate until it is determined that is not longer safe, being either too cold or too dark then parents will pick up children. Their operation hours is M-F from 7 to 6. Inside and play ground was toured. Random Staff and children files were reviewed, staff files have copies of their educational background. children's files have emergency information.. All staff have finger print clearance, and per agreement with licensing all CKC staff are associated to Westlake site. There are no bodies of water at the Preschool. Cleaning supplies are stored in the cabinet under the sink in the little kitchen locked and inaccessible to children.
Furniture & equipment appear in good condition. Children's bathrooms are in operating condition. Preschool refrigerator appears clean only milk and bread was stored in the fridge due to power outage, milk was delivered for lunch. Trash can for food waste has a tight fitting cover. Menu is posted. Playground has climbing structures, , sand boxes, etc. foam rubber is used for cushioning material. Drinking water inside the classrooms are provided via water pitcher and water container is used for outside. Staff have current CPR & 1st aid certificate, as well as immunization records and they all have completed the Mandated Child Abuse Reporting Training. Children were supervised during the visit. Teacher/child ratio was met during the visit. Mats is using for nap, sheets are provided by the center and the blankets are provided by parents. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS), but currently none of the children needs this service.
No deficiencies were noted today.
