25 | Unannounced random visit made by Analyst Mahvash Behbood. Met with Site Supervisor Maria Perez, purpose of visit explained. Linda Orosco arrived during visit.. Present also were 2 additional staff and one volunteer and 7 children. Morning session has 23 children, Inside and outside of the center inspected. There are no bodies of water on the preschool property.
Ms. Perez states there are no weapons at the Preschool.
Cleaning supplies are stored in an upper cabinet inaccessible to the children. Furniture and equipment appears in good condition.
Wood chips used for cushioning under the climbing structure. Playground also has a blacktop area. Children's bathrooms are in operating condition.
Floors appear clean.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment /supplies, and reviewed child's, personnel and administrative records
Preschool has a morning and an afternoon session (8:30 to 11:30 then 12:15 to 3:15). Snack is served for each session and the menu is posted. There is a refrigerator to keep items cold. All food is covered today. The elementary school cafeteria supplies the snack, which is brought to the Preschool daily. Trash can for food waste has a tight-fitting cover.
A container of water and cups are used in the classroom and water fountain is used in the playground.
All staff have clearances through the School District. Staff have current pediatric 1st aid/CPR certificated. Staff file contains permits/transcripts as well as proof of immunization against Measles, Whooping Cough, staff have completed Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training. Staff also have flue shot documentation. Children's file is complete with required documents including LIC 700 (Identification and emergency information).
No deficiency cited today.
