Indoor areas of the facility were inspected by the LPA today and observed to be clean, orderly, and safe for the day care children. LPA observed sufficient age-appropriate materials, toys, and play equipment in the facility. Furniture, such as tables, chairs, and shelves, are in good condition and safe for children. The floors were clean and free of tripping hazards. Drinking water is readily available for children in the facility via water fountain in the room. Children’s bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable. Trash cans for solid waste have tight-fitting covers on, and are in good repair. There is a refrigerator for snack storage and snack menu is posted and available for parents. Because this preschool program is half day, there are no naps at this facility. There is a working telephone in the facility.
The outdoor area of the facility was inspected and observed to be fenced in. There is a waiver for facility sharing playground with preschool program, kindergarteners utilize playground 1:15PM-1:45PM and preschool from 3:30PM-4:00PM. LPA observed play equipment was in good condition, age-appropriate, and has sufficient resilient materials (tanbark) to absorb falls. No outdoor bodies of water were observed during today’s inspection. Water is provided to children outside with water dispenser and disposable cups. Shaded rest area is provided by canopy.
9 childrens files were reviewed during today’s inspection and all required documents were present. 3 staff files (1 Site Supervisor, 2 Associate Teachers) were reviewed, immunizations are current and all required documents were present. Staff present have current CPR/First-Aid (Site Supervisor expires 3/2023) and current Mandated Reporter training (Site Supervisor expires: 8/19/2023). LPA reminded Site Supervisor that the Mandated Reporter Training must be renewed by all staff every 2 years. |
