25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cortney Nelson, met with Site Supervisor, Carmen Gutierrez, and Coordinator, Linda Orosco, for an unannounced Required- 1 Year Inspection. LPA was granted access to the facility by Carmen and toured both indoors and outdoors during the inspection. Salsipuedes State Preschool is located on the campus of Alianza Charter School in Portable Room #2. Upon arrival, there were nine (9) children, and two additional children arrived during the inspection for a total of eleven (11) children. There were four (4) staff members (three (3) teachers and one (1) site supervisor) present today, which is compliant with the facility license capacity and Title 5 ratio requirements. LPA observed all required postings near the entrance to the facility and the hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9:15AM-12:15PM & 1:00PM-4:00PM.
LPA reviewed sign-in/out sheets, AM preschool facility roster (LIC9040), and fire/disaster drill log during today’s inspection. Sign-in/out was observed to be completed with full legal signature and time of day. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 12/1/2022, which is compliant with the six-month requirement for facilities. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher (last serviced: 8/2022) and functioning carbon monoxide detector. The facility has a built in fire detection system. Carmen states that she currently has one child in care who require Incidental Medical Services and LPA observed that the medication is properly stored out of reach of children with proper documentation. There are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services- IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
