LPA toured the facility, indoor off-limit areas included three bedrooms, one bathroom and deck. The home was clean, well ventilated, and stocked with safe, age-appropriate toys. A 3A-40B-C fire extinguisher was present (last serviced 6/23/23), along with working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and an operating telephone. Hazardous items, including poisonous detergents, cleaning compounds, and medicines were stored out of children’s reach. Smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items are not allowed.
Outdoor off limit areas include storage shed. Outdoor play area is fenced and is filled with age-appropriate toys for the children, bolted secured swings, cars, play houses, sandboxes, blocks, manipulative toys, art supplies and mud kitchen. The licensee was reminded to notify licensing before making any changes to the house or yard.
Licensee CPR/First Aid expires 7/21/25 with mandatory training expired 4/12/2018. The assistant’s CPR/First Aid expires 4/22/25 with mandatory training expiring 4/4/25. The preventive health certification is on file. LPA reminded the licensee of the two-year renewal requirement.
The facility roster and five children’s file were reviewed, confirming all required forms were complete. Licensee has insurance for the daycare.
Licensee does not transport children. If licensee decides to transport children in the future she must have a current driver’s license. LPA reminded the licensee that children cannot be left unattended in vehicles and that car seats and booster seats must be available for safe transportation.
