25 | On 02/06/2025 at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Teodoro Trujillo met with licensee ALMA AGUILERA, for an annual inspection. Present with licensee were her mother and father who assist with 4 (four) children: Four (4) preschool age. Adults living in the home are license, licensee spouse, licensee mother and father, licensee two adult children, and one adult female only (girlfriend of adult child). There is one minor child living with licensee: 9 years old. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
A listing of staff criminal record clearances associated to this facility in the CCL Licensing Information System (LIS) on 2/04/2024 was reviewed and it indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background clearances have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee ALMA AGUILERA was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA inspected inside and outside of two-story home. LPA observed home is on top of hill with a drain ditch running parallel inside her fence line and barricaded with a second wooden fence. Licensee owns the home and Licensee states she has liability insurance for a family childcare home (FCCH) with Markel Insurance Company. LPA observed LIC 282 on file. LPA observed a 3A40BC fire extinguisher last serviced 4/11/24. Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors are operable. LPA observed a barricaded fireplace in the home. LPA observed barricaded stairs. Licensee stated there are no firearms/weapons in the home. Sharp objects, medicines, poisons, and cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children. Backyard is fenced. Off limits indoor: all of second floor bedrooms with two bathrooms and attached garage. Off Limit outdoor: rear yard and left yard area. Licensee states there are two pet dogs in the home.
Children were supervised during the visit and LPA went over substitute options and reminded licensee they could only have 14 children according to her license. Licensee stated she does transport children, LPA reminded Licensee that children are never to be left in parked vehicles and must use appropriate car seats according to the child's age/weight/size.
