25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joe Macias conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year Inspection (care tool). The purpose of today’s visit is to ensure the facility is in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. LPA met with the Program Director Blake Skelton, and explained the nature of today's visit. The facility is located on the Valencia Elementary School campus. The school age program is currently licensed in rooms #22, #30, #32, #34, and #35, with access to the cafeteria and library. LPA toured the Facility both inside and outside during todays visit. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), and Activity Schedule. The regular hours (when school is in session) of operation are Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 6pm. Summer hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5pm. The facility has an active waiver allowing all employees to be associated to Westlake CKC INC. #440710576.
LPA reviewed five children's and five staff files during today's visit. Each child's file reviewed contains the Information and Emergency Information form (LIC 700), immunization records, physicians report, personal rights, and parents rights. All staff files contain the required transcripts/verification of experience. All staff's CPR and First Aid certifications are current. The Director understands that there shall be at least one person with valid CPR and First Aid certifications on site at all times, or present during off-site activities (field trips).
Director understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the Facility license. Children enrolled in kindergarten through 14 years old - 1:14 adult-child ratio, 1:28 teacher-child ratio. Director understands that children shall be visually supervised at all times. LPA observed that all rooms are in order. Drinking water is readily available for the children in each room and in the outdoor playground area via water dispensers, and cups. The facility exclusively utilizes filtered water for drinking, and food services. The Director has submitted proof of the required lead testing. LPA observed solid waste containers with tight-fitting lids in each room. Staff and children's bathrooms are clean, sanitary. There is a separate staff bathroom not utilized by the children which an isolated child can use if needed. Director states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.
