Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahvash Behbood conducted an unannounced visit to the home today and met with Maria Anaya, Licensee, due to a request to increase the capacity from 8 children to 14 children. The Licensee has been licensed as a small Family Child Care Home (FCCH) since and thus the Licensee has over one year experience which is required to apply for an increase to a Large FCCH. Inside and outside of the facility was toured. Day care is provided in the added space designated to day care therefore the rest of the house is off limit. Children bathroom is located in the day care area. Licensee has allocated a fenced partial area in the back yard for children the rest of the back yard is off limit.
LPA discussed the MAXIMUM CAPACITY: 12 CHILDREN, WITH NO MORE THAN 4 INFANTS, OR CAPACITY 14 CHILDREN WHEN 2 CHILDREN ARE AT LEAST 6 YEARS OF AGE WITH A MAXIMUM OF 3 INFANTS; PROPERTY OWNER/LANDLORD CONSENT IS REQUIRED. WHEN MORE THAN 8 CHILDREN ARE PRESENT AN ASSISTANT IS REQUIRED.
LPA explained to Licensee that when caring for up to 8 children only, the license automatically reverts to that of a Small License of no more than 8 children. Licensee can have no more that four infants present or 3 infants and 3 preschool or 2 infants, 4 school aged children, 1 child in kindergarten or elementary school AND 1 child at least age 6.
A review of staff records on 06/10/19 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. LPA also reminded Licensee of the applicable civil penalties for those adults who have not received fingerprint clearances, are not associated to the license and who come in contact with or provide care and supervision to the children. Penalty amounts: $100.00 per person per day, minimum of $100.00 to a maximum of $500.00 per person for an initial violation and a minimum of $100.00 to a maximum of $3000.00 per person for any subsequent violation within a 12 month period.
Fire clearance granted on 05/23/19.

The request to increase the capacity to 14 is approved.
