32 | The Preschool outdoor activity space is enclosed with fencing. The space is equipped with a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment such as play structures, sandbox, garden area etc. Areas under and around high climbing play structures have resilient material to absorb falls. Shade is provided by canopy and trees. Drinking water is arranged to be readily available to children and there is a drinking fountain. The facility will not be providing transportation.
There is a total of 2 (30) toilets and 3 (45) sinks for the Preschool children to use. LPA observed soap dispensers and disposable towels in the restrooms. The restrooms near the Director's Office is designated for staff and children who become ill to use. The Director's Office will serve as an isolation area for children who are ill and has equipment (cots, chairs etc.) for children to rest. LPA observed that Facility has toys, furniture, and equipment for the children to use. The rooms are furnished with enough tables, chairs, and cubbies and hooks. The facility has mates for children to use for napping.
Parents are required to provide snacks and Lunches ,as well as morning and afternoon snacks for the Preschool. Meals and Snacks will be stored and prepared at the kitchen near the Director's Office. LPA observed the kitchen was equipped with refrigerator, microwave, oven, and stove to store, heat, and/or cool the food as needed. Containers used for storage of solid wastes have tight-fitting covers Detergents, cleaning compounds, sharps, medicines, and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children are stored where they are inaccessible to children. Storage/Maintenance rooms were locked. Daily cleaning with a janitorial service at the end of each week.
Director Michelle Atkins meets Educational Qualification requirement and is has current certification for preventive health practices training with lead poisoning , which included current pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid certification. Director maintains documentation of immunity against Measles and Pertussis. Director and CEO has Background Check Clearance has been transferred to the preschool school.
LPA reminded Director and CEO of the applicable civil penalties for those adults who have not received fingerprint clearances, are not associated to the license, and who come in contact with or provide care and supervision to the children. For an initial violation, civil penalty amounts to $100.00 per person up to $500.00 per person. For a subsequent violation within a 12-month period, civil penalty amounts to $100.00 per person up to $3000.00 per person.
