On 6/14/24 at 2:15pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kayla Danielson and Nicolette Cunningham conducted an unannounced complaint inspection, and met with director Kristen Walworth. It was alleged staff handled day care children in a rough manner, staff hit child, staff yell at day care children. The Center Director and two staff (S1-S3) were interviewed on 04/23/2024 and they denied the allegations stating they do not grab or drag or handle children and would never hit a child in care. Center Director and staff stated they do not use inappropriate forms of discipline and stated their discipline policy. Eight parents (P1-P8) were interviewed on 04/23/2024, stating they have only heard facility staff use stern tones, not yelling, when disciplining and have never witnessed staff handling children in a rough manner. During the complaint investigation visits, LPA also observed the facility staff were providing adequate care and supervision to children. Although the allegations that staff used inappropriate form of discipline and staff left daycare children unattended may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violations occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted, appeal rights provided, and notice of site visit posted.
